As part of AirSpace Studio Show 12 I exhibited an installation of paintings. The installation includes three paintings, the materials used are oil paint, pigment, clay body and cement clay each 150x30cm, two blue and one white, alongside two plinths - one with clay body and one with on-glaze pigment (please see images). The installation is about identity, secret codes and temporary existence inspired by Josiah Wedgwood's Jasper Ware. Wedgwood made thousands of 'colour trials' using secret codes until he was happy with his results. This work is a celebration of the heritage and ceramic industry in Stoke-on-Trent.
