Joyce’s practice utilises unconventional materials to create unique contemporary works, using ceramic pigments, clay, cement, paint, print and installation. She explores colour, scale, and surface, aiming to converge histories and a sense of place. The work is concerned with identity, secret codes and temporary existence.
Joyce has exhibited both locally and nationally in group and solo shows.
"What’s passion but a battering of stubborn stalks,
Then a gentle combing out of fibres like hair
And a weaving of these into christening robes,
Into garments for marriage or funeral?
Let flax be our matchmaker, our undertaker."
