A solo exhibition by Joyce Iwaszko at The Wedgwood Institute, inspired by Josiah Wedgwood's Jasper Trials.

The exhibition will feature work inspired by Wedgwood's Jasperware based on research carried out at the Wedgwood Museum. Joyce has been investigating Josiah's experiment books and writings in the archive. The work is concerned with identity, secret codes and temporary existence.

'I am delighted to be exhibiting this work in the appropriate setting of The Wedgwood Institute, which is built on the site of Wedgwood's Brick House Factory.' Joyce Iwaszko, 2016.

The artwork on display will include paintings, installation and print. Joyce's uses unconventional materials to create contemporary works, incorporating unique use of ceramic pigments, cement and paint. She explores colour, scale and texture and aims to bring together histories and a sense of place and is passionate about highlighting the rich heritage of Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire.
